Singer/songwriter, derek Schanche started playing guitar at age 12.  His love of rock and the Blues led him to berklee college of music in boston, massachusetts  where he earned a bachelor’s degree in professional music.

Derek has been a private guitar teacher for 14 years specializing in rock, blues, folk, pop, country, ear training, college prep, songwriting and performance techniques, music theory and more.

derek’s  former band ,“senor happy”, and his current band ,“Stars Crashing Cars”, are both signed to CBS Records. he currently resides in los angeles, california.
